g500 down the drain!!!

I bought my g500 and waited for 5 days for it, when i got the mouse.. i plugged it into my USB port and then restarted the computer and guess what? it didnt even work for my computer but it works on my laptop. I guess the cpu im using is just too old for the g500 mouse. But the main problem is i only play quake 3 on my cpu not on the laptop... cause the laptop isnt my thing. And another bad thing about the laptop is that the ENTER and DELETE buttons are broken... so that means i cant send messages on quake 3 or delete them either.. that means i cannot set any binds any cmd's. Im so pissed off, i bought a g500 for nothing! i guess i still need to stick with my regular computer mouse until i find some way to play with my g500 with a computer that works with it. If you guys have any ideas that can help me out then i'd appreciate anybody who is willing to gimmie some ideas to make sure i can play q3 with my g500 thanks!

Alright, thanks ghost. But i gotta warn ya... my cpu will not work with my g500 and idk y. I plugged it in and restarted it.. nothin happends. it wont work.. i think the cpu im using now is too old... but we'll figure soemthing out
